Bohemia, Moravia and Silesia, the traditional historical constituents of the Czech Crown, make up this region. The territory of 78.8 thousand km2 is located in the center of Europe and is surrounded on all sides by border mountain ranges. The uplands and rolling plains of the Bohemian Massif, as well as the depressions and plains of the Bohemian Plain, make up most of the interior of the territory. The North, Baltic and Black seas are the destinations of the river currents. The Vltava and the Elbe are the longest rivers. 1/3 of the total area is covered by mixed and coniferous forests.
