VEGAN TRAVELLERS IN FRANCE

WHAT TO DO IN FRANCE

Much of Europe’s history can be found in France. The massive migration of the nomadic Celtic peoples in its early days, the subjugation and civilizing influence of the Romans, and the rise of the local nobility were its defining characteristics. Perhaps nowhere else in the history of Christianity has such a staunchly independent Church coexisted with such a strong central government; two excellent examples are Carlos Martel the Hammer and Luis XIV, who proclaimed himself a State.

Lavaldieu

Lavaldieu
Dating back to 1774, the guest house and gathering area are set around a grassy courtyard with views of Mount Bugarach and the ruined Bezu Castle. There are three beautiful and comfortable rooms for two or three people and they have a common bathroom. We also have a family room for four people. Rustic cobblestone floors and original oak beams are found throughout most of the home, including the dining room, which features beautiful Russell-made wooden tables. Breakfast is served from 08:00 to 10:00 with homemade bread and jams, fruit, muesli, yoghurt and a selection of hot drinks. For those who have allergies, there are always alternatives. Patricia, who has been a vegetarian cook for 25 years, prepares all the meals, which are vegetarian and 90% organic and contain many of our own organic vegetables. A pleasant and informal atmosphere prevails.
